TRIP OVERVIEW

A trip to explore your passion for horses at Argentina´s legendary Pampas & North Patagonia. Arrive in Buenos Aires and next day fly out to the Province of Córdoba to experience Estancia Los Potreros ranch, and days of endless riding from green pastures to the hills. As we get acquainted with the Gaucho traditions we move on to North Patagonia´s Estancia Tipiliuke, a ranch with thousands of acres of Magnificent landscape.

  • On day of arrival explore Cosmopolitan Buenos Aires and lodge at an exclusive boutique property in lively Palermo District.
  • Leisure away and lodge at exclusive Estancias: Los Potreros, a riding haven at the fertile hills of Córdoba , and Tipiliuke, a classic ranch at the foothills of the Patagonian Andes .
  • Enjoy a Polo lesson and get acquainted with the Gauchos´ riding traditions.
  • Taste some delicious Patagonian lamb and memorable Asado al Asador, while sipping out of this world Malbecs

ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival in Buenos Aires

Today you arrive in cosmopolitan Buenos Aires. Reception at the airport and transfer to your hotel. During the afternoon we’ll walk through the elegant turn-of-the-century districts that earned Buenos Aires the soubriquet of the Paris of South America: Palermo with its elegant Parks and aristocratic Recoleta. At centric Plaza de Mayo Square we learn about the country´s recent history and Evita’s favorite balcony before walking the few blocks that separate us from San Telmo art district with its charming cobbled alleys, Colonial architecture, and its popular street fair (*). As we walk, we stop at some historic Cafés and sample Dulce de Leche Gelatos to go. The evening is yours to explore some of South America´s top dining options, and the lively atmosphere of a city that never sleeps.

Day 2 Buenos Aires to Cordoba – Estancia Los Potreros

Morning transfer to Buenos Aires domestic airport to board flight to the city of Cordoba. Upon arrival we are met and transferred to Estancia Los Potreros. Check in and lunch at the verandah. Then it is time for an afternoon introduction to the wonderful horses and relaxed western-style of riding. Enjoy a sunset ride and learn about the history of the Estancia and surrounding areas. A candle-lit dinner provides the perfect end to your first day at the ranch..

Day 3: Estancia Los Potreros

This morning we ride to some natural rock pools, the perfect spot for our a picnic lunch and a few hours of relaxing in the sun or swimming, while enjoying the beauty and tranquil serenity of the Sierras Chicas. Evening wine tasting, and sample some fabulous Argentine Malbecs & Cabs. (Optional Ride : Full day ride to the far south of the farm, enjoying a picnic by the stream next to asmall museum in what used to be the house of Guido Buffo, an art and science lover, whobuilt a unique chapel as a memorial to his wife and daughter).

Day 4: Estancia Los Potreros, Polo  & Gaucho riding  skills

No horse-riding holiday to Argentina would be complete without trying your hand at the ‘Sport of Kings’ – polo! Ride down to the polo field, have a short lesson and some practice ‘stick and ball’ and then play a few chukkas of this highly addictive game. A barbeque lunch at the polo field is followed by a visit to ‘El Vergel’, the oldest building on the estancia dating back to 1639. If that wasn’t enough, try your hand at ‘sortija’, a gaucho game on horseback that involves threading a stick through a small ring at speed!

Day 5: Cordoba to San Martin de los Andes, lodge at  Estancia Tipiliuke (North Patagonia)

Morning transfer to Cordoba airport to board connecting flights to San Martín de los Andes, on North segment of the Lake District area. From the airport a short transfer takes us to Tipiliuke Ranch, on the valley of the legendary Chimehuin River. Settle in and Dinner.

Day 6: Estancia Tipiluke

Considered as one of the top boutique hotels in Patagonia, Tipiliuke lodge is located in the heart of a 50,000 acre working cattle ranch at the foothills of the Andes Mountain range.The ranch is framed by the Chimehuin and Quilquihue rivers, known worldwide for their magnificent gin clear waters and exceptional trout fishing. Like they were over 100 years ago, cattle today are worked by authentic “gauchos”, many of whose families have been in the property for three generations. From the snowcapped Andes mountain range to the valleys and clear water rivers, Patagonia is known for its vast beautiful landscapes. It is hard to imagine riding in a more spectacular setting. In addition to the beautiful scenery, the wildlife of Patagonia abounds on every ride. From large herds of red deer, to Andean condors, to Guanacos, the wild version of the now domesticated llama, to the elusive puma, you are sure to experience the best of Patagonia’s wildlife. Several riding options are available for the coming days.

Day 7: Estancia Tipiliuke

After breakfast we will ride to a different part of the estancia, probably they might be working with cattle or we can visit the corrals returning back to the house for lunch. Optional (included): After a short rest we might drive into town to visit the Georg Museum, where you will see the work of a very talented family of artists, an opportunity to walk the streets in San Martín de los Andes and do some shopping before returning to the estancia for dinner.

Day 8: Estancia Tipiliuke

After breakfast we go for a full day ride and enjoy a gourmet picnic lunch by the river. Return to the ranch and relax away or maybe enjoy the large wood burning sauna. This evening we can put hands on at a cooking class of typical empanadas until dinner.

Day 9: Transfer to San Martín de los Andes Airport,
