Afternoon reception at Bariloche airport and depart on a scenic drive along the shore of Lake Nahuel Huapi, to the quaint mountain town of Villa La Angostura. Its buildings made of stone and wood, in harmony with a stunning landscape of lush forests, lakes and rivers of crystalline waters. Check in at Las Balsas Relais & Chateaux, that welcomes guests in search of tranquility and relaxation. Dinner on own at the lodge, or explore the local scene.

VAfter breakfast, we trek through typical forest of Cohihues and lengas to Lake Espejo. Later on we return to the village for lunch on own. Afternoon leisure, or enjoy the fabulous Spa by the Lake, at Las Balsas. Sunset will find us on board at the Velero Impaciente, the elegant wooden sail boat in which we venture into the deep glacial waters as we enjoy exquisite Patagonian delicatessens and a wine fly on board.

Morning scenic drive to Bariloche, capital of North Patagonia´s Lake District. Time to scout the town´s famous Chocolaterías and lunch on own before heading for our hotel, a cozy inn surrounded by nature a few miles away from Bariloche, on the shore of Lake Nahuel Huapi. Later on, we will make our way to the Llao-Llao hill, where we will hike throughout a magnificent forest and enjoy great views of the surrounding lakes and mountains. This evening, it is time for regional dishes at the lively local brewery.

This morning we’ll depart for the shore of Lake Gutierrez—a protected lake at the foothills of the Cathedral mountain range. After a safety talk from our guide, we’ll start paddling through flat waters. We’ll stop at a pristine beach for picnic lunch, and from there we will return to the lodge. Leisure afternoon relaxing by the pool or enjoying easy walks through the surroundings. The evening is yours to explore a complete palette of fine dining options in Bariloche. Kayaking time: 2 hours, double kayaks on flat waters.

Today we will be heading south on route 40, driving pass El Bolsón and other Andean communities. By mid afternoon we enter Los Alerces National Park, an area of 650.000 Acres, founded in 1937 to protect some of the oldest trees on earth and one of Patagonia´s best kept secrets with its native forests, pristine lakes and glaciers. We then continue to the El Aura Lodge, in the heart of the park. The luxurious bungalows in total harmony with the surrounding forest and lakes, and our home for the next three nights.

Start the day with a boat navigation across Lake Verde (*). The guide will give a brief description of the excursion you will undertake and will check all the equipment is in order. From Lake Verde you’ll continue to Puerto Mermoud, where we will make your first walk of the day of (approx 25 minutes) along the rapids of the Menéndez River up to Puerto Chucao. From this point you will boar the boat again for 40 minute navigation through the east arm of the Menéndez Lake, arriving at Toreccillas Hill´s base. From there you will ascend for one hour and a half following a mountain creek to, El Antiguo Lagoon, resting at the base of the spectacular Torrecillas Glacier. While trekking, alerces, tineos and other trees of the valdiviana jungle will be seen. Enjoy a box lunch at this pristine area before turning back to the lodge Trekking Effort Level: Moderate, 4 – 5 hours.

After breakfast and safety instructions, we board traverse double kayaks and paddle along the shore on the protected waters of Lake Verde. We then follow the turquoise waters of Arrayanes river, stopping along a sandy river bank to enjoy some Patagonian home-brewed beer over a picnic lunch of regional favorites. Later on, paddle back to the lodge, and the afternoon is yours to opt for easy trekking options from the lodge or leisure away until dinner time.

Leisure morning to explore on own this vibrant city. (Optional guided activities could be included during this day ). By mid-afternoon, luggage pick up by your hotel and transfer to Buenos Aires International airport to board flights back home.
